Designed for the demands of hospitality

Great table water is about more than the appliance. From initial design through to ongoing support, we help make water service a seamless part of the customer experience.

Corporate

Better water for better workplaces

A workplace water solution should be easy to use, reliable and suited to the way your team works. We combine the right appliance, tap and installation approach to deliver chilled, sparkling or ambient water where it is needed most. Our focus is on creating a practical, professional solution that supports staff, visitors and everyday workplace use.

Public Space

Built for high-use environments

Public spaces need drinking water solutions that are robust, accessible and capable of handling periods of high demand. We match the right system to the site, user numbers and application, whether for bottle filling, drinking fountains or shared facilities. chilled water

FAQ

Find answers to common questions about our water appliances.

How does an in-house still and sparkling water system work?

A plumbed-in system filters and chills your incoming drinking water, with carbon dioxide added to produce sparkling water. Your team dispenses water directly into serving bottles or glasses. Depending on the system selected, you can offer chilled still, chilled sparkling and ambient water from the same installation.

Can the system keep up with a busy restaurant, pub or function venue?

The right system should be selected around your busiest service periods—not just your average daily use. We consider patron numbers, serving volumes and the number of dispensing points, then match the equipment’s initial chilled-water output and recovery capacity to your requirements. This is particularly important when many tables need water at once.

Can a system be installed in an existing venue?

An existing bar, kitchen or service station can be assessed for a suitable installation. Planning should cover water and power connections, equipment space, ventilation, tap position and any drainage requirements. Sparkling systems also need provision for a CO₂ cylinder. For new fit-outs, involve us before cabinetry and services are finalised.

Can we serve the water in bottles carrying our own venue’s branding?

Yes. Venue-branded bottles can make your table-water service part of your own presentation. Custom tap medallions, dispensing handles and selected finishes can also help coordinate the installation with your venue. Discuss your preferred presentation with us so the available options, quantities and lead times can be included in your proposal.

Can we purchase the equipment rather than rent it?

Yes. Our hospitality offering is built around equipment ownership, giving your venue an alternative to an ongoing equipment rental arrangement. Your proposal should identify the equipment and installation inclusions, together with ongoing requirements such as filters, servicing and CO₂. Owning the equipment does not mean there are no ongoing operating costs.

How do we work out whether a system will save our venue money?

Start with what you currently spend on bottled water and how much you serve. Compare that with the complete cost of an installed system, including filters, CO₂, electricity, maintenance, reusable bottles and washing. This gives you a more useful comparison than looking only at the appliance price or a claimed cost per bottle.

How can we charge guests for still and sparkling water?

Your water offering can be structured to suit your service style—for example, by the bottle, through a per-person sparkling-water offering, or within a function package. You can also keep still water complimentary while offering sparkling as an upgrade. Choose an approach that fits your venue and communicate it clearly on your menu.

Does sparkling water require a separate CO₂ cylinder?

Yes. Sparkling systems use a CO₂ supply, so cylinder space and replacement arrangements need to be included in the installation plan. Cylinder inclusions vary by package: for example, Stream’s CH270 listing includes a regulator but excludes the cylinder. Confirm what is included in your selected system before ordering.

What maintenance will our team need to manage?

Your team should follow the supplied instructions for cleaning taps, drip trays and reusable serving bottles, and keep ventilation openings clear. Filter replacement, internal cleaning and technical servicing should follow the requirements of the selected equipment. Ask us to identify the recommended maintenance arrangements and the support available for your location.

Can an in-house system help reduce single-use bottle waste?

Serving water in reusable bottles can reduce the number of pre-packaged water bottles your venue buys and discards. It can also reduce the stock and empty packaging handled on site. For environmental reporting, assess your actual bottle purchases and reuse practices rather than relying on a general percentage-saving claim.

What drinking-water options are available for our workplace?

Stream’s range includes chilled still water, ambient water and sparkling water, depending on the appliance and tap configuration selected. Options are available for workplace kitchens, reception areas, meeting spaces and shared facilities. We help match the water choices and installation style to how your staff and visitors will use them.

How do we choose the right capacity for our staff numbers?

Start with the number of people regularly on site and when they are most likely to refill. Include visitors, meeting-room use and shared break times. A workplace with staggered attendance has different requirements from one where everyone takes lunch together. Consider both the appliance capacity and the number of convenient dispensing locations.

Should we choose an underbench, benchtop or freestanding unit?

Underbench systems keep the main equipment out of sight and use a separate dispensing tap. Benchtop units keep dispensing controls on the counter, while freestanding units provide another option for shared areas. The best choice depends on your available space, water demand and preferred layout.

Where should we position water dispensers in an office?

Choose locations that are convenient without creating congestion. Staff kitchens, breakout spaces and areas near meeting rooms are worth considering. For larger offices, compare a single central station with several smaller locations. Include room for users to refill bottles and allow access for cleaning and servicing.

Can a system be included in an office refurbishment or new fit-out?

Yes. Water dispensing can be planned alongside your kitchen, joinery and workplace layout. Selecting the equipment early allows the installation requirements to be considered before cabinetry and services are completed. We recommend confirming the appliance, tap location and available space before the fit-out design is finalised.

Can the same system support staff use and meeting-room water service?

A suitable installation can serve both purposes. Staff may refill their own bottles, while your team fills carafes or serving bottles for meetings. Include both uses when choosing capacity, especially where meeting-room preparation coincides with staff breaks. Stream’s commercial range includes equipment intended for self-service and behind-counter use.

Who is responsible for cleaning and maintenance?

It is helpful to separate everyday cleaning from technical maintenance. Your workplace team should follow the operating instructions for the dispensing area, while filter changes and equipment servicing follow the selected system’s requirements. Before ordering, agree who will arrange servicing, what is included and how support is requested.

What drinking-water solutions are suitable for schools and shared facilities?

Options include drinking fountains, dispensing stations and chilled-water systems connected to multiple drinking outlets. The appropriate solution depends on who will use it, how many people need access and where it will be installed. Stream’s education range also includes appliances for staff rooms, kitchens and other shared areas.

How do we select equipment for busy periods such as school breaks?

Assess demand during the busiest periods, not just the total number of users. Consider how many people may arrive together, how much water they will draw and how quickly queues need to clear. Equipment selection should account for cooling capacity, recovery and site temperatures, alongside the number of outlets available.

Should we provide drinking fountains, bottle-filling points or both?

Choose according to how people will use the facility. A drinking fountain serves users who do not have a bottle, while a bottle-filling point supports refilling throughout the day. Where both are needed, include them in the design brief and check that the selected outlets provide suitable clearance and easy operation.

Can chilled water be supplied to an existing drinking trough?

Yes, a suitable chilled-water system can be assessed for connection to an existing or new multi-tap trough. Stream’s Glacier range is presented for this type of application. The existing plumbing, outlet numbers, layout and anticipated demand should be reviewed before selecting the equipment.

What should we check before specifying a system outdoors?

Confirm that the selected model is approved for the proposed location and exposure. Include weather, direct sun, surrounding temperatures, drainage and potential damage in the assessment. Do not select an appliance for an exposed installation solely because it has a stainless-steel cabinet; request confirmation of its suitability.

How do we accommodate children and users with different access needs?

Include the intended users in the design brief from the beginning. Consider drinking and bottle-filling heights, control reach, ease of operation and approach space. Ask the project designer to assess the complete installation against the relevant accessibility requirements, rather than relying on the appliance description alone.

How should drinking stations be kept clean and maintained?

Include the stations in the facility’s cleaning and maintenance plan, using the instructions supplied with the equipment. Allocate responsibility for cleaning outlets and surrounding surfaces, reporting damage or leaks, and arranging required servicing. Set the maintenance schedule around the selected equipment, usage and site conditions.

What information should we provide when requesting a quote?

Provide the site address, type of facility, approximate user numbers and busiest periods. Include whether you need drinking fountains, bottle filling or both, along with photographs or plans and details of existing services. Flag outdoor exposure, accessibility needs and project timing so these can be addressed in the proposal.

Can we have chilled and sparkling water on tap at home?

Yes. Stream offers residential options for chilled water and systems that also provide sparkling water. Ambient water is available with selected configurations. The right choice depends on the water options you would like, your household’s usage and the space available for installation.

How much cupboard space will an underbench system need?

Space requirements depend on the model and configuration. Allow for the appliance, filters, connections and servicing access—not just the dimensions of the main unit. A sparkling installation also needs provision for its CO₂ supply. Confirm the complete installation layout before choosing a cupboard or finalising cabinetry.

Can a system be installed in our existing kitchen?

An existing kitchen can be assessed for a suitable installation; a complete renovation is not necessarily required. The assessment should cover available space, connections and the proposed tap location. Stream’s residential offering includes assistance with product selection for existing homes, renovations and new builds.

Will we need a separate drinking-water tap?

Stream’s underbench systems are available with dedicated drinking-water taps. For example, the CH80 includes a single drinking-water tap, while other configurations offer additional water choices. The appropriate arrangement should be confirmed with your selected appliance and kitchen layout.

Can we plan the system into a new kitchen or butler’s pantry?

Yes. The design stage is a good time to choose the appliance and tap position. Give your designer or cabinetmaker the selected model’s installation requirements before the cabinetry is finalised. This allows space for the equipment and access to be incorporated into the overall layout.

How do we choose a system for our household and entertaining needs?

Consider both everyday use and occasions when several people will want water at once. Tell us how many people live in the home, whether you regularly entertain and which water options you prefer. We can then help match the appliance’s capacity and configuration to your requirements.

What maintenance will the system need?

Follow the supplied instructions for routine cleaning, filter replacement and servicing. Sparkling systems also require periodic CO₂ cylinder replacement or replenishment through an appropriate supplier. Before purchasing, ask for the maintenance requirements for your chosen model and the support arrangements available in your area.

What should we allow for beyond the purchase price?

Consider the complete installed price, including the appliance, tap configuration and any required installation work. Ongoing costs can include filters, electricity, servicing and CO₂ for sparkling water. Request an itemised quote so you can distinguish what is included initially from what you will need to budget for over time.
